How To Play

The game allows teams of different numbers to play against each other. Each player can have a team of up to three characters, and the system will adjust the ability values of both teams to achieve balance even if the team numbers are different. Teams with only one character have a higher life value, while teams with multiple characters have the ability to have other characters assist. Players can also set their own assists.

The game contains a story mode, arcade mode, match doctor, practice mode, teaching mode, and an online match mode mediated by GGPO. The game has some features that address system or balance issues, such as the ability to detect infinite segments. If the system detects that a player's action constitutes an infinite segment, the opposing player can get rid of the infinite segment by pressing any button; in addition, the game is designed to prevent "unblockable attacks," for example, when a player presses a button to perform both a low and a high attack, creating an attack that is virtually unblockable by the opponent. To address this situation, the system will give the character a short invincibility period after successfully blocking any attack
