The so-called "treasure" can be anything from shells (used as in-game currency) to random junk that can be combined to make things like sea radios and other trinkets.

The treasures you find will eventually become decorative items around the beach, allowing you to both clean up the ocean and beautify your environment. Every once in a while, you might just go diving and surface with another otter friend. The otters you collect can be renamed and may have different rarities. They also have their favorite foods, and when they are fed, you can use them to go on more dives in different places.
